First one in Paris
For the first time in Paris all the asian art market professionals are gathered.
We already know the american versions : the Asia Week New York (in March) and the british one : the Asian Art in London (in November), and now Paris launches its Printemps asiatique (Asian Spring) from the 7th to the 17th of June !
For 10 days and on the occasion of the asian art auction week in the capital city, the galerie Jacques Barrère - in collaboration with the major players in the asian art market and the great cultural institutions - launches a special week dedicated to asian arts.
Galleries, auction houses and museums get together
This new path gathers twenty big asian art galleries : Renaud Montméat, Alexis Renard, Galerie Jacques Barrère, Galerie Bertrand de Lavergne, Galerie Christian Deydier, Galerie Espace 4, Gauchet Art Asiatique, Indian Heritage, Valérie Levesque, Galerie Mingei, Galerie Tanakaya, Galerie Captier, Anne Duchange, Galerie JM Béalu & Fils, Ateliers Brugier, Juliette Moreau-Gobard, Cristina Ortega & Michel Dermigny, Galerie Eric Pouillot, Galerie Théorème, Galerie Tiago, Compagnie de la Chine et des Indes and Galerie Christophe Hioco.
With their exhibitions and auction sales dedicated to asian arts during this week, the auction houses Artcurial, Bonhams, Christie’s, Cornette de Saint Cyr, Sotheby’s, Tajan and some of Drouot's offices also join this event.
The Musée Guimet and the Musée Cernuschi join the movement with exhibitions respectively dedicated to "The world as seen from Asia" and to Perfumes of China.
An annual event
This yearly show will allow the amateurs and collectors to discover some of the main artworks available on the market. The aim is to affirm the importance of the asian art market in France, especially within the capital city.
