Jeweller’s craft, clockmaking and Hermès : seductive sales in Monaco
Artcurial is going to kick off mid-January. For the third consecutive year, Artcurial takes up its winter quarters at the Yacht Club of Monaco from the 16th to the 19th January. Auctions dedicated to jeweller’s craft, collection clockmaking and to vintage Hermès bags will be taking place.
Bidders, you can add this event entitled « Le Temps est féminin » to your agenda. Under the hammer of François Tajan, the auction house takes the clockmaking-themed sales up again by gathering around sixty women timepieces. « Le temps est féminin » tells 70 years of clockmaking history and explores the relation women maintain with this objet which is at times either a jewellery, an accessory or a mechanics marvel. The creations of the house Piaget, particularly representative, are the central theme during all the session, next to models signed by Vacheron Constantin, Patek Philippe, Chopard, Audemars Piguet…

Graphic arts up for auction
In 2018, France will celebrate the 50th anniversary of May 68's events. For the occasion, Artcurial organises on the 13th march a unique sale that will tell the story of this incredible popular movement with the exhibition of an exceptional collection of 500 posters gathered by Laurent Storch, a contemporary art amateur, who collects them since 1988.
During the Salon du dessin, Sotheby’s is going to put up for sale the collection Christian and Isabelle Adrien on the 22nd March in Paris. As a lifetime passion for painting and drawing, this collection invites us to an unusual trip between the XVth century and the end of the XVIIIth century, across Italian, French, Dutch and Flemish currents.
Each piece is a testimony of the talent of great masters, such as Salviati, Bassano, the Carracci, Poussin, Lemoyne, Le Brun, Boucher and Rubens. Other drawings are coming from prestigious sources, such as the collection of the art historian and french merchant, Pierre-Jean Mariette, or that of one of the most famous english painters, Sir Thomas Lawrence.
